Summary

The program is for basic science experimental studies involving humans.  These studeies fall within the NIH definition and also meet the definition of basic research. The purpose of the program is to enhance diversity in the neuroscience workforce and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, independent investigators from diverse backgrounds, including those from underrepresented groups in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.   Program intends to commit $4.0M per year in fiscal years 2024-2026 to fund an estimate of 20 awards per year.
